    This piece is 2" tall.

This one is likely decorative also but I am wondering about the material it is made from.

Also, what is with the face on his back?

Perhaps he is carrying a mask, slung over his back?

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Makes sense to me - small steel wire to hold the "sand" core up in the mold to make it hollow? Larger holes are to empty the core contents when de molded? Just a pattern maker rambling on how hollow items are cast - not injected moulded.

@mmarco102 - @moreotherstuff had pointed that out to me on the other netsuke I posted so I was pretty sure this one was decorative also.

Both of these pieces were part of a box lot I got super cheap so they were both good learning pieces.:happy:

No need for an apology. I actually mean it when I say that I appreciate "any & all advice or opinions"!!:happy: :kiss:

I am likely going to combine the 2 netsukes & hopefully sell them to a local buyer/dealer here in Columbia that has already offered to buy the Guanyin reclining figure I showed a few weeks back. :D
