Hi folks, found this today in a charity shop for a pound (about 5 inches)

Seems a quite a simple imari design
It's not the best of paintwork, but the porcelain is quite fine which I like

    Wondering the age(guessing it's Japanese)

    Any thoughts appreciated

Given the pale colour and the form along with the base I suspect this one might be Chinese. Could be early 19th century.

The Shape and form is undoubtably Japanese.
The decoration is also Japanese. Those Squares are typical in Japanese 19th c early 20th century Imari decoration and as are the roots, or branch squiggles. You can see these on 18th century imari.

As you can see from these vintage and antique Kutani that it is common to Japanese. The handle is quite distinctively japanese.

The Chinese did import Japanese Porcelain in the mid 20th century when they could not keep up with demand, so you can see here a famille rose decorated on a Japanese porclain bowl. ( In my opinion as the famille rose looks Macau or at least mid 20th and the porcelain body is japanese)

I believe it's japanese. However, not typical japanese but very likely to be japanese colonies. Age looks like early 20th century
