Chinese vase with moriage dragons. Does this look authentic? the mark looks to be a mash up of other

rotated view. It looks like part of quianlong mark in the upper right but does not make sense.

 

I think it's supposed to be a Tongzhi mark, an apocryphal version, it does look later, but seems to have a bit of age. The decoration would be called 'applique' rather than moriage for this piece.

 

would you call it Rose Medallion or is it considered a different style?

 

There are three main types of late 19th and 20th century Famille rose canton export.

1.Famille Mandrin 2.Famille Canton and 3.Famille Medallion.

Famille Mandarin: This is composed of people sitting in a coutyard as the main subject surrounded by birds and flowerrs fruits batc etc.

Famille Canton: This is where the main subject is birds and insects and flowers surrounded by a border of flowers and fruits etc

Famille Medallion: This is where there are people in cartouches and birds and insects in cartouches surrounded by a border of flowersa and fruits etc. In the centre you have a central medallion with birds and insects and fruit.

There is also 18th century Mandrin which is slightly different.

Your vase is not based on any of the above, it is not a famille rose but as Ce Bca has said it is based on a Tongzhi style but is an obvious later revival or copy. How later, not sure maybe PROC when they did copy alot of Tongzhi style. The drawings while very colourful and detailed are a little stiff.
