Featured Not antique - Blue acrylic lobster shaped piece - any ideas?

    I know this isn't antique by any stretch of the imagination but I didn't know where else to post this thing. :rolleyes::confused::wacky::hilarious:

    I was curious if anyone has any ideas as to what this might have been used for or is it just a tschoke?

    It is hard plastic, 5 3/8" long & 2 1/4" across the front claws. Not marked anywhere that I could find.

    I swear I looked last night & was actually shocked at how many responses I got when I googled lobster massager. Who knew??? :wacky::wacky::wacky:

    I will tell you I just tried to use it as a face massager & it sucks IMHO. :p:p:p :hilarious::hilarious:

    I wonder if this is supposed to be a crab rather than a lobster which would explain the use of the word "cancer". :confused::confused:

    I wondered that too but the others I saw were an octopus & a turtle so don't think it is related to the zodiac. Plus, it looks like a lobster. Perhaps just a glitch in the Russian translation?

    I have seen Renaissance art use a more scorpion/lobster type creature for Cancer, identifiable by its place in the lineup of astrological symbols.

    It is translucent hard plastic. I am not sure you can tell if something is lucite or acrylic or generic hard plastic.

    When I think of lucite I think of MCM stuff & this definitely does not fit into that era.

    Not to dis your lobster there, but a massager? Really? With this concept I could pick up any plastic toy, roll it around on my neck and back and get a massage. It looks like it would hurt, especially on a thin person.

    I did try to rub it on my face & it did hurt. So I stand by my earlier comment that it sucks. :p:p
