Featured Japanese themed pottery jug

    Hi folks

    Found this in a charity shop. Seems to have a Japanese theme, but thinking not made in Japan, but unsure

    Bit of an odd one, has numbers inscribed, and what looks like a 2 in Roman numerals or maybe a mark ?

    7 inches

    Can't find anything similar

    Any ideas on age origin or maker appreciated

    I agree, not made in Japan. Between the Roman numerals and the Arabic numbers (the ones we use here in the west) I'd say JAPAN is quite unlikely.

    see most would be made to feel a little foolish, but my own stupidity just makes me laugh
