    Hello

This is for sale quite locally to me, any opinions on country/quality etc.

Not many details about it, described as very heavy, 55cm tall.

    Thanks

Looks bronze, maybe not terribly old, I like it.
It would depend upon the cost,
and IF I could either want to keep it forever, OR want to sell it immediately. Because it looks very heavy and will collect a lot of dust... ;)
I think this is NOT antique.

I'm guessed that is a warrior shield with a depiction of the face of the sun.
    Did Japanese Conquistadores exist? ;)
Maybe AJ will know what this costume is and where it is from?
@Any Jewelry ;) thanks in advance!

His left arm is very awkward. I'm guessing the ring had a purpose of some sort.

Some of the Ming bronzes have that funny belly face.

    This looks bronze,but make sure..

I went to buy 2 large Chinese warrior statues a while back. They also looked bronze on the photos. The seller assured me they are ‘solid’,heavy and looked bronze to him..So I took an hour drive.. But they were resin and very heavy (like they had a weighted core or something) and covered with thick bronze like paint (Very well done) I think some of these also gets covered/wrapped in a thin metal sheet/film and then painted.

Thanks all. It weighs 8.6kg, hard to tell whether that means solid bronze or not at this size though. Asking price is £125 and an hour's drive each way.

I would pass. Many of these are brand new, and this one looks new to me too.
Chinese 'brass' isn't the same as Western brass btw, it is a different alloy that doesn't qualify as brass.
