This vase was at a local thrift store for a few months so I bought it. I like mid-century designs, but it's not quite my style with the gold. I'm guessing it's mid century because of the atomic design elements, but I can't find anything like it online based on what I'm search. There are two marks on the bottom, 7381 in red and then a faint pressed mark that might be a © plus numbers? It's about 14" tall.

I think no one wanted it because of all that crazing, that's why I initially didn't buy it. Also has the start of the crack on a rim. It was only $3 so I guess I shouldn't complain too much. Any guesses are appreciated!

I think a number like that could be indicative of Japan.

Especially with the numeral 1 upside down. ;)

Ah good to know. I debate if it was an I or upside down 1. Do you know why they did that?

It may not have been intentional, but a good indication that the staff working on the stamping did not know the right way around.

Yes that's it, bravo! I wondered if it had a lid, the proportions on the rim looked like it allowed for one. I imagined a flat lid, like a ginger jar lid but more modern. I'm not digging the jewels, but I know that's what people liked back then.
