    Hi folks

This was something I picked up for about 50p at a boot sale a while ago, and put it aside as being nothing, as I'm not sure it's that good and missing its lid

Be interested to know where it came from or if it had any age though

It's porcelain and got a rough grain (imitation ivory?)

    Any thoughts appreciated

I tend to agree, its hard getting a pinch of snuff from a bottle.

    Yeah maybees

Didn't some have a lid with a tiny wee spoon though ?

Strikes me more snuff than perfume

The shape has to be the clue to it

    Obviously a pocket type vessel

Could be for powder or liquid

Both would be hard to fill :)

The shape reminds me of the flask that some men's grooming kits had way back when. BWDIK

Those roses are very typical of German decors.

I agree, a lovely European scent bottle, purse/handbag model. Very sweet.

Chinese snuff bottles have small openings too, btw. And as Charlie said, a small spoon to take the snuff out.

A plug, but the exterior of it would go over the top of the bottle if that makes sense. These often had ribbon and wax seals as well.

Thanks obb, thought that might be the case, as their is aging around the outside of the neck
