    Hi all
I found these yesterday at a local thrift store; the table/stand has a serving tray that rests upside down making a top for the table & when you flip it over it has handles so you can serve your guests.

Is this wrought iron - I think I've heard of 'twisted wire'? - is it that?
    How old is it?
Can I call it a French table/stand with serving tray?

The standing floor ashtray is by Metalcraft - is that alabaster stone at the bottom?
Can I call it mid century? Art Deco Ashtray?

Thank you in advance for any information!

The ashtray looks like slag glass, not alabaster.

Not wrought iron by a long stretch. Don't know the proper term, but twisted wire may be as close as you'll come.

Yeah, I think it's called "metal mesh", sounds a bit better than wire.

Think your wire stand is a modern import. There were similar wirework tables from the Victorian era. Your deco-era ashtray stand is indeed slag glass. Many of these incorporate lighting with the glass.

What does one do these days with a smoking stand? I found a broken one once and made a table out of it - pitched the ashtray top.

Have you found another one? I searched using twisted wire & metal mesh stand table with serving tray top but I can't seem to find another one?
