Is this a Van Raalte Mahogany Dresser?

I bought this dresser a while back and trying to figure out the value of it if I get it restored. The Mahogany Association label looks a little worn, which was like that when I got it.

Yes, 248 is the code for Limbert Furniture by Van Raalte. That being said, the label gives me the feeling that it was modified. Interesting how the 248 looks like it was applied after that part of the label was scuffed up. Not seeing this particular item in the Limbert catalog I found.

 

It appears to be like this one that sold with a mirror back in 2006 for $500. In general brown furniture is down in price however I have no idea if that applies to yours.

This is a matching piece that sold at the same auction for $350.

 

Note that it was in 2006, before brown furniture really took a dive. Suffice it to say, it might cost you as much to restore it as you can get out of it.

 

Even in restored condition, this would not be a $300 piece at retail in my semi-rural Midwest location. You may do better in or near a large city.
