The OP perceived your first post as rude. You essentially called the OP stupid, with lots of emojis to amplify the effect.

The OP responded by calling you rude, and suggesting a work around -

Apparently, you took this as such a personal attack that it deserved a truly offensive retaliation, (which the cute emojis cannot mitigate) -

This is not standing your ground. This is a gross overreaction.

I know you have been a valued contributor for many years, and I have seen you be much more welcoming. I know we all have bad days. But I don't see the point of attacking any new comer who is just trying to figure out how the site works. It makes the whole site look bad.
