Thank you for looking. I would love to know more about this Print by Grace Grebbie Drayton (Wiederseim)

    American, 1877 - 1936

“1913 Copyright” Campbell's Soup Kid Lithograph Wooden Framed Print

“I’d Rather Say Hello Than Goodbye”

I have found postcards only. This framed print measures 9” X 12”.

It is copyright marked Reinthal & Newman Pubs. N.Y.

Would anyone have a rough idea of value?

Candle stick phones were used from 1890-1940 if that helps

Thank you for your help, maybe researching the date is a good idea!

I'm confused. What is the association with Campbell's Soup beyond the fact that the illustrator did work for the company? Is this language "Reinthal & Newman Pubs. N.Y." printed on the piece? Is the date "1913" printed on the piece?

Sorry for the confusion. I am only guessing what this print may be based on this postcard that I found on Pinterest which was pulled from Worthpoint. On the print that I have in my possession, there is the marking "Reinthal & Newman Pubs. N.Y." There is no date printed on my print.

So nothing to do with Campbell's Soup. Publisher is confirmed as "Reinthal & Newman Pubs. N.Y." The Worthpoint postcard was mailed in 1913. A quick internet search shows that stamp produced in 1911/12 so dating right-ish. #308 is printed on the back of the postcard.

Thank you Deborah. Your right, there is nothing on the card that says Campbell’s Soup. I did read on Wikipedia that Campbell’s Soup Kids were sometimes depicted as talking on the phone, but that still doesn’t prove that this is a Campbell’s Soup kid.

Read Drayton's bio on Wikipedia and it says she was busy with lots of other things at the same time. No doubt her association with Campbell's was a big help in popularizing her other work, and I think it would be fair to say in a description that she was the creator of those characters.
