This is one of the things about trying to read & write on the computer this way as compared to a good old sheet of paper. I'm getting a repetitive motion injury from scrolling up & down to reread, look at a photo again, etc. I quickly lose track of who posted what. Sheet of paper, just a roll of the eyeballs to go from one to another.

    You can still do that.

OP's doll definitely looks played with, unlike my Mme. Alexander's, who stayed primly in their stands on top of my dresser. If this one wasn't played with, I don't even want to begin to imagine how she was 'enjoyed'!

I have my mother's Shirley Temple doll. She's in very good condition after spending some time at the doll hospital back in the 60s to have her curls reset & her eyes put back in place. Only her fingertips look eroded. I can imagine her, in her Stand Up and Cheer dress, looking so cheery in her stand and my mother daring to touch only her hands.

By the time Mother was telling me where the dolls came from, it's entirely possible she didn't remember or just didn't mention Valentine's Day.

    Played with by visiting children?
She does look startled, as if she is used to her rest and only taken out occasionally. "Oh my G, more rowdy children who want to pull off my head. Where is my box!".

My mom's other doll, the one I did not post a picture, of looks like she was well played with -- including completely detached arms, hair loss, and general messiness.

But I know for a fact that she has spent the past 60 years in the cedar chest.

It has gotten kind of crowded in there and the cedar chest does live in the heat/humidity of a Florida house, so... :hilarious::dead:

She is my maternal grandma. Maybe it was my moms. It’s more like 8-12 inches, and I scoured all Nancy Ann folk types and don’t think it’s one of those.

    Definitely NOT Nancy Ann.

If you didn't see my earlier post, see if she is marked on the back. She looks like one of the PMA dolls.
