Bird Design Charger

    Hey everyone. Bought this wonderful piece yesterday. Thought it was just amazing in person and had to have it. Was wondering if anyone knows anything about the artist or period etc?

    Bird looks like a Woodcock, a North American bird...so guessing it's American.

    "Signature" looks like hobbyist or small studio maker. Look around in the area where you found it.

    Google images thought it might be a bee hummingbird but does look like a woodcock too. :)

    That was my first thought - someone hand-painted a hummingbird onto the plate. Intials KP, which are appropriate given that it's a place if you know anyone who's former USA military. (My late dad pulled some voluntary KP; you peeled potatoes in the shade while the unit went on a 40-mile hike ... he got good at potatoes!)
