    I’ve loved this since I was a child. I believe it was a wedding present to my grandparents. It was one of the first things I packed!

    I don’t know anything else about it aside from the fact that it must be from [edited to add] very early in 1940 or before that, most likely 1939. See wedding announcement here: https://www.nytimes.com/1939/11/23/...nwich-girl-wed-to-gerard-tobin-in-church.html

    And that it needs a wash.

    I would venture to say Bohemian Glass. Possibly Loetz or Kralik. Someone more knowledgeable than I, will pop in later I'm certain

    I'd say late 19th Bohemian.

    :DI’m glad I’m not the only one who likes it! Nobody else in the family wanted it, and I never understood why. Aside from the fact that it is scary to think of putting it in a dishwasher.

    It has been something of a family joke, the gist of which is that because I like it, it’s probably Tiffany - unless there’s something more expensive :happy:

    I would love to know, but I love it no matter what.

    I agree with @judy. :happy::happy:

    PLEASE DO NOT PUT THAT VASE IN THE DISHWASHER!! :jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop::eek::eek::eek::facepalm::facepalm:

    Warm water & mild liquid dish soap is what you need along with a soft rag. Rinse with warm water & dry thoroughly immediately afterward. :happy::happy:

    You are so right. That is exactly how it should be done. Some things are just worth hand washing. Putting this little darling in the dishwasher would be like washing a cashmere sweater in a washing machine on hot, then putting it in the dryer!

    When i am selling glass or pottery I tell they buyer, if it was made before dishwashers or microwaves, it doesn't go in either! If they have a problem with that, that's OK with me, I gently tell them they probably shouldn't buy it.

    I would rather keep it!

    You can put some stuff in a dishwasher, it's surprising. Jasperware for example. And an expert on Chinese ceramics here puts 17th C bowls in!
