This thing is BIG. 10 1/2" tall, 7 1/4" across the top. Has a tall ship which is etched into the glass. Plenty of bubbles and a pontil. Slight green glow under black light...more glow on the base which has thicker glass.

Aquitaine, I have seen similar images some time back, possibly German? Wedding or celebration glass keeps coming to mind. Some were pretty large.

In Dorothy Daniel’s book, she has an excerpt from StIegel Glass by Frederick William Hunter that describes the classification of Stiegel’s 14 engraving patterns. There are no ships.

First off it's a "Copper wheel engraving." not etching. Done by spinning copper discs, with an abrasive grit flowing over the surface. The style is 18th century, the age is questionable. It has been reproduced. My opinion: the snowmen with hats do not seem to be of an early age, but a more recent copy.
