Martha Stewart’s Great American Tag Sale in Pictures (curbed.com)

Anybody hear about this? Doesn't sound like something that I'd ever attend. I guess people like to have their fifteen minutes of glamor digging through Martha's overpriced cast offs.

 

I heard about this. I think she is donating the money to charity. I hope so.

 

When I see this at an estate sale, I just drive right by and go to the next one on my hit list...

Holy Smokes!!! $250 for a ticket to just get into the sale??!! Not for me, no way. Don't care what she's selling or who gets the money, that's just too much.

 

FWIW the Martha Stewart old discontinued cookie cutters she made sell for decent money nowadays. If you see em grab em.

I grew up in Fairfield County where she started out and the gossip flew fast and furious about her, she was not popular with the locals!

 

I am not a big fan of MS at all, but I loved the baking show she had on PBS.
Wasn't all that frantic BS that goes on now on most of the baking, cooking shows.

 

Wonder what the local police force is getting paid to keep the law and traffic in order! Can't imagine there will be any hidden gems in this media event...

Apparently this is going to be a TV show. I've been seeing promos for it.

I would not have gone to the sale & I am definitely not going to waste an hour of my day watching it on TV.

 

I want to watch it so see if she asks for high prices on the repro jadite she made under her name. She has her mom's real jadite, then bought the molds and started her own. And the cake stands are very popuar. Another food cook on the food channel also put out a jadite like color design. And what kills me is the new rerpo's go for more than the really old stuff.

 

I watched it and was very uninspired. I would have been more interested if they actually showed more of what was on the tables than having MS blab on about stuff.
And as far as the jadite goes, I noted one piece that was not depression glass even tho her intro said her Jadite was. Other pieces may have been vintage.
She sold all the jadite to one person.. a celebrity who called in her wants. That did not seem fair.
