Featured Interesting art find inside a bamboo cylinder. Has a signature if sorts.

    Storage locker find, rolled up in a bamboo tube.
    IMG_59601.jpg IMG_59591.jpg my buddy's pictures so I haven't put my hands on it Yet.
    Will try and do that today weather permitting.
    Black and gold pen was his description, any help decoding the signature.

    I did find a few close pictures by

    Nice surprise find, Rick.
    Wayan is the name given to the first-born in Balinese families, so there are many Wayans on Bali.
    The signatures are different for the two, as is the quality of the painting. So it is unlikely that yours is by I Wayan Kabetan.
    The style is the Batuan style though. The religious theme (Naga) and the grey tones with gold highlights are typical of Batuan. So you are on the right track.
    But which of the many Batuan Wayans made yours....?

    One of the Wayans brothers? (American actors/producers) Maybe not...

    That's the first thing I searched for :D
    Was intreaqued with what turned up as well.
    Seems like the wayan brothers signature is simular.
