    It is known to me, yes, I see him daily. He often whines about having wanted one of the heavy, intricately-machined torpedo tube inner doors but was forbidden by the captain as it would pose a slight risk to the watertight-integrity. He protested “But Sir, they’re going to sink her tomorrow anyway.” He was ignored. : c (

    Very nice article, @springfld.arsenal, too bad they wouldn't let him have it, since it was going down, anyway!!! My oldest brother was Navy, Sub, and on the USS Albacore....interesting history.... https://www.ussalbacore.org/
    A couple of times, something very serious happened on her, that they were NOT supposed to ever mention.....and he never did....that's ALL he ever, ever said.... took whatever it was to the grave with him when he passed in 2018....I think he was on her about 1958 +/- ....!
