Brown drip edge bowl

I have a brown drip edge bowl marked with USA on the bottom.
Dimensions are about 5 3/8" x 3" x 2 1/2" tall. I have
been researching Hull, Hall Crestone, McCoy, Canonsburg. I
found in my research USA. Was there a company called USA
company that made brown drip edge bowl? If not, I would like
some assistance on the company who made this bowl. Thank you. Rob

There was no company called USA so you can take that off your list of possibilities. I don't think McCoy. McCoy is usually a little better marked and includes more white in the drip. Something about Hull seems off to me too but I can't quite put my finger on why. It may be that the pottery seems a bit too thin. I'm afraid I'm not as familiar with the other companies you mention. I've heard of them but am not versed enough in their production to say. Brown drip was probably one of the most heavily produced decorations in the 1970's and 1980's and telling the different companies apart is difficult.

 

McCoy and Hull and the others I mention put their company names on the bottoms. I recall Hull even put Oven Proof on the bottoms and maybe USA, too.

 

If the drip has a greenish tinge, it's Canonsburg. I see there's a brown drip pottery group on facebook.
