Hand Painted?

    I received these from a relative about 20 + years ago, I can not find any marking for manufacturer, or anything unless I missed it somehow. Thanks IMG_0003.jpg IMG_0003.jpg IMG_0004.jpg IMG_0005.jpg

    Japanese lusterware if i don't miss my guess. It was only marked part of the time. I"m just putting activity on this until an expert sees it.

    Thank you, for me it will be a start. They are so thin, almost shell like. They have been home to my china closet in one of the felt lined drawers, taking up valuable real estate as I say.

    So Japanese lusterware it is! Thank you all so much, if we lived closer I would bake you all cookies! So is there a difference if it is egg shell lusterware vs. i guess regular ? Or is it all eggshell? If not what makes it eggshell? Sorry for all of the questions

    Luster is the glaze and isn't always on egg shell. Egg shell is translucent.

    This looks to be eggshell though; the porcelain is paper thin.
