Featured Unusual Duette Brooch

I looked at this duette brooch a few days ago....the only mark was pat pending, may have had numbers. I searched the internet, haven't seen another. The thrift shop wants $76 (pretty steep), but does have half-price days (rare.) Do you recognize a particular style, designer, time period? Took the pick while brooch was inside the locked case. Thanks.

 

I've never seen one like that either. I'd be checking for marks on the back and looking them up. $75 would be more than a hair steep unless it's an exceedingly rare piece. It better have a Trifari patent on the back!

Yes. And you can see the separation from the front. Next time I am in the area, I will have them take it out of the case and I will examine it more closely. Honestly, I really want it.

I think that is exactly mine! Now I have to go back to examine it. I love open-back stone pieces. I will probably end up taking it home....sigh.

 

If it were Vauxhall glass in a duette, I'd cheerfully make off with it (high pitch) "Mine. All Mine." ...but probably not.
