Found these gorgeous things today and thought they looked like Murano glass beads. At NZD 5 each a bargain. Research has found them as Murano o IMG_20220813_181534_resized_20220813_063923578.jpg IMG_20220813_181556_resized_20220813_063923009.jpg IMG_20220813_181552_resized_20220813_063923296.jpg IMG_20220813_181613_resized_20220813_063922450.jpg IMG_20220813_181602_resized_20220813_063922726.jpg r Venetian; Fiorato or wedding cake beads; antique and vintage and the prices amazed me. Both have barrel clasps and one is on wire with crimps like the ones currently in use for jewelry, while the other is on some kind of thread. I'd be keen to know the age if possible. Thanks in advance

I'm always impressed by the amount of effort people put into making beads.

I've seen these called wedding cake beads.

Yup, wedding cake. How long are they? I'd have said 50s into 60s.

I wouldn't be surprised if those were restrung using the old clasps but adding additional beads and findings.

I'd have said "come to mama!" Definitely restrung; they were probably found on damaged stringing and only half the beads were left. Someone made use of them.

Amazing isn't - I guess that's why they are so expensive.

The white ones are 45cm and the green 50cm. I'm selling the white as they are too short for me, but I will keep the green ones. OK so vintage. Thanks for that

Of course! That makes sense - does it detract from the value?

Sorry not sure why the photos came out in the middle of my description! I was at the end and made a space after before I uploaded the files. Grrr!
