I found this thrifting Friday (along w/a hand signed Romero Britto print/litho!) - I recognized the reel (a well known Penn), but teh rod made me stop - and in the end was why I bought it - I've never seen anything like it!
It looks like a fencing sword(epee?) with it being metal & triangular - has anyone seen this before or is it someone's frankenstein creation/repair?
    Thanks for any help!

It looks like a salt water fishing rod. It would be helpful if you put the actual length in the post. No markings at all on the rod?

Short rods are not uncommon, just used in specific cases, like ice fishing, fishing in tight spaces where a longer rod would be more difficult to use, trolling, some ocean fishing where casting isn't an issue.

The whole thing is 4' 9" - just the metal pole(?) is 35"

Here is the signed Britto + a cast signed(I think) promo photo for The Walking Dead TV show - I don't know what season unfortunately (it would help me figure out whose signature is who!

The Britto was $24.95 & The Walking Dead was $14.95 - but another thing I got yesterday (well, I got half & a friend got 4 of the big ones + a space shuttle kit) - was a lot of (mostly) BIG model ship kits; BIG ones were $12.95 and others were $7.95, but since my friend sells on amazon where things (like model kits) have to be sealed, he ended up selling me the 5 kits for $200 - but today I called a guy who bought model kits from me before & again asked me to call him as soon as I got anymore - and sold him the lot for $500 cash; no eBay fees, no packing & no shipping!
I am going to have to recalculate my shipping - I sold a Yuengling(?) beer salute the troops sign/mirror for $225 on eBay + $40 shipping - UPS charged me $76 to fragile pack (w/box & fragile packing supplies) and pirate ship (which uses UPS but gets a big volume discount) charged me $49 to ship it - for a total of $125 shipping I had to pay!
AND(!) while I can't complain too much because of what I paid - I sold a Roy Fairchild Woodard limited edition litho for $550 + $80 shipping - when I saw the price for the beer sign which is half the litho size I had them check on fragile packing it - $120 and that doesn't include shipping (to California from Miami Fl)! So I may try to pack iy myself, but at least if they do it & something happens they pay the claim without a problem.
I am going to have to change all my shipping costs, but also lower all asking prices to make up for it! But again because of what I paid for it I can't complain too much - it was a shock though!
PS - I also sold the Calumet wood field xm camera for $400 on eBay - half what they sell for but I only paid $99. But this one I am packing myself!
Model kit collection I got at thrift yesterday below - didn't make a lot but everybody made some money or got a good deal & everyone was happy; best way to do it!

    Scott Wilson on the poster.
Also think it’s Andrew Lincoln in the sky middle.

I have a couple of those that I remember my Father using to troll for walleys in Lake Erie, and we used them for trolling for lake trout in Canada when I was pretty young - probably 50+ years ago. But one has a round steel rod and the other has a fiberglass rod. Just as yours, they both have the 2 eyeletts on the rod plus the guide on the tip. No idea if yours was a handmade rod but the angle of the line coming from the reel to the first eyelett seems extreme putting pressure on the line and wearing it out prematurely especially if you are battling a large fish. The period correct braided line was colored differently in yard long sections (if I remember correctly) so you can count how many yards of line you put out or how many yards of line you have reeled in - no line counters back then - LOL!

That's a shot of Atlanta. My best guess is it's from Season One. Since the show is ending I'd bet that signed cast photo would sell for real money now.

Was one of my favorite shows that scared the beejeezees out of me some nights; the make up & acting looked so real!
One thing I liked/hated - ANY cast member could be killed by a zombie; it was always a shocked "I can't believe they're gone" when a favorite character was killed!

WOW THANKS FOR SHOWING EVERYTHING, Journey, It's so fun to see all'a the Miami area finds you get. You deal in much larger dollar amounts than I ever did for artwork, proud of you for getting out there every day and doing it! :)

I'm sorry I can't help with this art or the tv show though! :)

Thanks antidiem; the art is nice but I buy way too much compared to what I sell - I never knew art (or any good deal) could ve an addiction!
I just found a cool show called The Liquidator about a Canadian guy who buys closeouts or warehouses/factories that need room - down to driving by a garage or 'boot' sale and buying everything - then later wondering why he did it (1 funny show was when he bought about 15,000 kilos of pickled peppers and 6 or 7 broken pianos from a storage facility , or 250,000 packages of candy - that had 2 weeks left before their expiration date was expired - or a gay leather bondage collection!
Afterwards while scrambling to resell whatever it is he keeps asking himself "why did I buy that?" and then admits it's a addiction to the deal - how good of a price can he get?
I've watched 4 seasons in 3 days! It is so entertaining but I also I feel like a smaller version of him sometimes! I think it's on Amazon & it's free to members - if your a picker or collector you'll love the show!

I passed through that so early on, can't imagine getting stuck on "let's just see how cheap we can get this for.." queries! :D

Gosh this could have become me when I first started! When the Frito-Lay plant shut down, my friend and I went over and asked to buy everything left in the warehouse! We dickered our best deal. It was all beautiful stuff, bright red vinyl coated shelvings, signs, office furnitures... I disposed of my half though the free ads in the newspaper from my garage! At THAT POINT, I decided NOT to do something like that again! :joyful: :joyful:
