Is there any way to remove paper from a faux tortoise top table?

    My daughter's neighbor has a beautiful vintage dining table that has a "faux tortoise" top. Someone put a wet paper plate on it - and it "stuck". She ALWAYS has had it covered... until today! Help!

    What's the faux tortoise made of? Faux painted? Plastic?

    Presuming the "faux" is varnished or protected, remove the best part of the plate if not already done and just leave a damp cloth to soak the paper left !
    should come of with a wipe

    same as removing wall paper really :)

    I honestly don't know...
    I'm not even sure how old the table is... perhaps the 70's?

    Test a small area first, to see what the effect of prolonged contact with water might be. Depending on the finish, it might cause an irreparable bloom/stain. (Although if it was originally meant to be a dining table, you would expect some designed resistance to such damage.)
