Good Afternoon and I hope everyone are doing well!

I have this pair of cufflinks that has a mark that is either OWU,OWJ or GWM.. I can’t seem to find it at all on the net. The stone is also a problem because I don’t know if it is Jade or Aventurine. It is also marked sterling and the # 1965, not sure if it is a date or a patent #. The gold was tested 4 times and it came up as 14k gold is marked. HELP! I hope someone will be able to figure the out for me. As always, I appreciate all your response and your help.

Aventurine contains Mica, are there any sparkly bits in it?

There's a garnet that looks kind of like that, but only kind of. So...dunno.

Grossular garnet can have similar spots, but testing is the only way to be sure.

I thought of that too. I might just take it to a jeweler and see what they say.

Yes, I can see that it might be beryl, although unusual to see it cut en cabochon instead of being faceted.

Depends. The nicer stuff gets faceted, but low grade bits are often cabbed or made into beads. The color looks wrong though.
