Hi - I’m trying to find anything I can about this clock. It looks to me like it belongs on a ship? But I know very little about naval vessels - or clocks, for that matter… any ideas?
    Thank you!

It’s 7” (18cm) in diameter and 2 3/4” (7cm) deep. Appears to be brass. Looks like the frame unscrews, but I can’t budge it. Can’t find any signatures on the face or the case. IMG_7810.jpg IMG_7811.jpg IMG_7812.jpg

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Your last picture here kind of looks like the threads might also have gotten crossed.....look towards the left side.....wondering if letting a few drops of '3 in 1' oil sit along those threads might help it loosen up....all around....let it sit for a good couple of days....at least I would say! UNLESS there are others a bit more knowledgeable than I who might have other/or better suggestions!! Can you see inside with a small flashlight?? Or is it just an empty housing??

Not sure about the Roman numerals and simplistic face on yours, but I don't know squat about them...

I just happen to have a bottle of 3-in-1 right here! It does have the inner workings (and some spider webs) inside. Good eye, catching the crossed threads! I’ve never noticed that.

I did an image search and it just came back with a bunch of standard clocks.
I didn’t know anything about them either, but I just watched a YouTube video about them, and wow… ship time-keeping is rather complicated.
