I forgot to come back to check this discussion after I got home.

I am American, and took Russian language classes in college, many years ago. I loved studying about the language and also the society and culture. Later, I worked as a librarian at universities. That allowed me to occasionally use Russian skills. But definitely minimal now. Still, I enjoy it and remember some of it.

 

It is pleasure for me to help, @Figtree3, especially after so much help from the community here in my (maybe stupid) questions. Thanks for that!

You do amazingly well in Russian having in mind the strange (for you) Cyrillic Alphabet and the Russian grammar with 6 cases and myriads of inflections and exceptions to them. I am not a native English speaker, come form the post Soviet world where Russian was the second (if not the first) official language. So it is a good opportunity to use my skills here in this forum.

 

Is Russian your second language? May I ask what your first language is? All language skills are welcome here.
