Featured Brooch - help with maker mark, year and maker

My previous attemt was so successfull that i am trying again, I am amazed of the kindness and helpfulness that meets an old man trying to enter into the jewellery world here!

This is a brooche, measuring 3,5 cm in diameter. I think it is rather pretty, but know nothing about it. Anyone out there that can help, based on the photos and the markers?

 

A lovely Scottish dendrite/dendritic agate brooch with a sterling silver thistle surround, Edinburgh 1965.

He he- no, since i started eating oat meals at least 2 times a day, my intestinal status is very good, thanks for asking (and a good advise, actually!)

 

It is a spectacular piece. The stone is beautiful.

Gorgeous brooch, Torkel! Does need a gentle clean on the silver though.

 

The stone looks more like red moss agate than dendritic agate.

I agree, I thought it was Moss agate as well. Not dendrite.

Yah...that hinge threw me for a second.....but only one side of it....
If they had made the catch old style....I'd be scratchin my head !!

 

Pictures are terrific and LOVE the thistles going around the brooch!!!!! Stone is GORGEOUS too!!!
