I have two series of botanical prints by the same artist, all with the same initials as a signature. I'm not sure what the initals are... maybe "S t i" or "S H i"? Also, I didn't find the same images online, even doing image searches.

I'd appreciate help in figuring out the initials or if anyone recognizes the work.

Here are pics of each two of the prints, one from each series botanical-print-01.jpg botanical-print-03.JPG botanical-print-02.JPG botanical-print-04.jpg botanical-print-05.jpg ...

I look at pictures before reading.
    I saw GHE.

I agree the first signature does look like it could be "GHE," but in the second one it looks to me a lot more like "S H (or t) i"?

Hmm, I just looked at more of the signatures under magnification, and the last letter may, indeed, be "E"... plus it may be just two letters, either "SE" or 'GE."

I'm going to use that to do more searches for images and artists names and see if anything turns up.

I've just researched a dozen or more artists listed in this database whose intials might fit, but nada. :(

I just thought of something... could it be one or more Japanese characters?

I forgot to share the history of these prints. They were my mother's and she probably purchased them sometime between the 1950s and 1970s or so in New York City. They're so unblemished that my hunch is she bought them new.

They're not offset prints, but I don't think they're original prints, either. I have other prints and postcards bought by my mother that were printed using a high quality commercial lithographic process that didn't make use of dots. Most, if not all, of these non-dot matrix prints were published in Switzerland.

I think I tried searching for that, but not 100% certain that I did.

    It could be that, too.

I think I'm going to drive myself crazy trying to find the artist. :(

If I understand correctly that you have more of these, I would scan all of them and reverse Google image them...

Yup, I have four from one series and six from the other. I've done Google image searches for some, but not all, and was thinking tonight that I'll try doing image searches for the others as well. Hopefully one or more will turn up. :)

Yeah, I started in the GHI camp, but have since converted to the CJE camp. Neither has proven fruitful... Nor have any of the other combos I've thrown about!

I haven't had luck with any of the combos, either. I've tried googling, looked through askart.com and a few sites that list botanical artists, etc.

A couple of times I actually found a botanical artist with names that could fit the initials, but their styles were radically different than my prints so those were dead ends. :(
