    Mdina tortoiseshell. 1970s to 80s.

Mdina 'tortoiseshell' is speckled/mottled, like real tortoiseshell. This is from the Brown Earthtones series.
The tortoiseshell glass can come with stripes, which could be confused with the earthtones series. But the stripes on the earthtones are more defined, like on mugzinnys' vase.

I have a lot of Mdina and have been there. It's tortoiseshell. The 70s ones are a bit odd.

@Mugzinnys , to avoid confusion, it is best to check the website I posted for the name, here it is again:
    https://www.20thcenturyglass.com/glass_encyclopedia/maltese_glass/mdina_glass.htm
Beautiful isn't it.:) I visited all the Maltese glass manufacturers that were there in the 80s and early 90s.
I went to Malta a couple of times for business because our gallery had an exchange program with the Galleria Fenici in Valetta, you may have seen the gallery back then. I always planned extra days for a holiday, and had two 'proper' holidays there as well. We even thought of moving to Malta. Glad we didn't, too many tourists now.
But I would love to go back if my health ever permits, I still haven't seen all of the neolithic temples.

Nigel, who runs that website, is over on the Facebook Mdina forum. You could always ask him, he's delightful. Some of the original glass making staff are on the forum too. There's also an excellent new book out on Mdina/MDG. I bought it over there last year, and schlepped it back. Weighed a damn ton.

I've about a hundred and fifty pieces, I think: mostly the Mediterranean colours. Don't like the pink at all. A few bits of Mtarfa, as well, which is often confused with Mdina. And then, there's the other Michael Harris stuff: Kerry and Isle of Wight.

Some ascribed Mdina is, of course, not, it's MDG.

Pink is not my colour of choice either, I stick to the blues and turquoises, and only Mdina and Phoenician. I like those, and I know what I'm like when I don't restrict my collecting urge.:D
Is MDG what you meant when you said the 70s ones were a bit odd?
