metal head bookend

    This came off a wood bookend piece. Anybody know who she is or how old this molded piece might be ?

    She is modeled after a ca 1930 style Balinese woodcarving of a djanger dancer. We don't get these metal ones here, only the Balinese carved ones, so I suspect these were US made.
    The djanger dance was popular in Balinese villages in the 1930s. The dancers had much more fun than this poor girl, maybe because they weren't stuck on bookends.:playful:

    We have a pair of these in our group shop. Will try and have a closer look next time I am in there (Thurs) if they have not sold. Can't remember if they are mounted on something or not.
