Can anyone identify this or advise me on if it’s actually gold. What do the symbols say? 9366790E-3FA2-4104-A582-5CCE8AF4A8DF.jpeg 9CED9323-20C1-4699-894E-84FA6D49BF6A.jpeg

How big is it ...how much does it weigh...where did you get it?

Most likely to confirm whether it is gold or not will require some type of testing. Others will be able to provide a lot more info than I can.

Seems too light for a real one

You could get it checked at a coin shop or pawn shop. If it is fake they will offer you nothing. If they offer you anything, they believe it to be real. Even if they give you a very low offer and say it's fake.

This is a gold doubloon minted in Spain from 1535-1810. Yours appears to be similar (but not necessarily authentic.)

    You forgot one measurement: thickness.

If 1.5" radius (looks fairly round) x 1/16" thickness: gold would weigh 35 grams

    So, what is the thickness?

Welcome to the Forum, Christine! :)
If you go to Edit, Thread Tools, Edit Title, you can change Medallion to Coin. Maybe @daveydempsey has some thoughts.

Best way to decide whether it is gold or not yourself, is to measure specific gravity. You need a fairly accurate scale (but not expensive), and a small cup of water. You can google the directions.

It's a lovely coin! I've never had a gold Spanish coin before. Silver yes, but not this! Very pretty. Hope it's real!!
