I was about to list this for sale because I don't wear it at all. I was looking on the internet for more info so I could describe it sothat people know what it is.

I found similair stone which refered to jadeite and i started to research jade, and read that the rarer version of jade is the emarald green.

Is this pendant categorized as imperial. It does look like natural stone to me and feel , sounds like it.

I also would like to know what the meaning is of this pendant or is it just decorative. You can spin the pendant around it's axle and there is a other piece of "stone inside the stone" which is not attached to the outside stone.. don't know how they got in there but looks all handcrafted, maybe carved out?

Any ideas how I can describe this and how I can put a value on it.?

    Thank you

    Lovely pendant, Chantal.
It is a bit darker than emerald green.
That is called a puzzle ball. So a green jadeite jade puzzle ball pendant with an 18k bail.:) And is that a little gold set ruby I spy?

The faceted stone looks more like a pink sapphire,in another photo it looks more yellow/gold.

Ruby and pink sapphire are pretty much the same thing; it's just the depth of color. I don't know if the green rock is jade or not, but if the metal is solid 18k odds are the stone is good too. I'd test things just in case.

Thank you all. Interesting to know now what it is. I researched the colours for jade and this is not the best color. Yes it is mounted in 18k gold. The stones are glass, I had them tested.

Now we know for sure it's Chinese; the Chinese are known to make some weird combinations for their own market, i.e. costume stones in high karat settings.
