Featured Silver Wall Plaque - Japanese?

    I found this 13"x 6" embossed wall plaque. Not sure if it is just a cheap tourist item or possibly something nicer. Has anyone seen one like this? Any info is appreciated. IMG_6542 (2).JPG IMG_6544 (1).JPG IMG_6543.JPG

    Ok, now I see qilin is Chinese, Kirin is Japanese. I didn’t mean to imply one over the other. :hilarious:

    I have never seen either with 6 legs and horses hooves.

    I don't think it is Vietnamese:) I never encountered this "fat beast" in Vietnamese or Cambodian repoussé decor:bucktooth:

    Yes it is very thin metal. Not sure if it's all silver or plated.

    Not trying to correct, @i need help i had to look it up, myself

    Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese (and other) deities/celestials are hard to track because of their bifurcated cultural histories.

    I find it fascinating - but challenging!
