Storage Find 1982 Original Cartoon Drawing Christmas Card Wally Miller

This is a storage find,1982 original pencil cartoon drawings by Wally Miller.I can't find anything about this artist.Any information

 

Is there any address info,postmarks, etc?

No. I don't know if this is a print or an original drawing, but anyone can throw a copyright symbol on anywhere.

 

Yes it had an address,I misplaced it when I cleaned out storage,it is an original drawing,I throught if he is a well know artist,he didn't want anyone else to steal his drawing.That's my throught.

 

Hi, these are quite well done and I wondered if the artist might be a cartoonist with a strip to his credit somewhere. I googled but we have a Wally Miller here in Oz who is a footie icon so didn't go too far there. Worth pursuing. I would agree that the artist would likely put a copyright symbol on his work, signature and date.

 

I googled too but came up with nothing.Might be a pseudonym name.

 

Googling Walter Miller (Wally being a nickname for Walter) I found an obscure reference to a Walter Miller who was a cartoonist for the New Yorker magazine. The few images didn't look all that much like these and unfortunately there is no Wiki page for him either.

I only mention this because my parents had a neighbor (I don't think his name was Wally) who was a commercial artist who made very elaborate Christmas greeting cards, many of them funny, in his retirement and it occurred to me that the Wally who did these might have had an art background that did not rise to the level of being "known."

 

It makes me think of two of my uncles who were artists and created their own holiday cards to send every year.

I'm thinking the images in the card might be copies done by the artist of his own work, maybe using a photocopier?

 

I guess the name "betty Lou" was his wife or daughter,that's how it's signed.I will try looking up Warren Millen and Walter Miller.Thanks a lot you all!!!

 

One of the reasons I asked about address was because I found a Betty Lou Miller married to Wallace, but couldn't find Wallace's obit. Given the number of people named "Miller," it's an unfortunate name to be researching.
