Anyone recognize this? It’s under glass, some kind of lithograph or print/copy.
    Thank You!

Persephone typically holds a sheaf of wheat, doesn't she? This figure appears to be holding a magnet? What do others see?

I’m bummed it’s damaged. It’s not my normal cup of tea but it’s sort of growing on me.

I expect they're meant to be Muses.

Interesting how their eyes all look similar. Design of the time?

I wonder if it’s a generic, “In the Style of” that was made just to reproduce and was never an “actual painting”?

They are all dressed alike, except the standing figure's robe has ornamental edging missing on the others. She is also wearing a laurel wreath. She could be Calliope, chief of the Muses, but all the Muses, of which there are nine in most accounts, traditionally wear a laurel wreath. Although I'm not finding an original, I suspect it is Sappho.

Did you know Sappho was not the only poet on Lesbos, or that not all the inhabitants were women?

Not that I could see. I was not comfortable taking it out of the frame, seems to be backed with some odd, fragile, almost cardboard looking material...and a ton of nails.
I’ll post a shot of the back.
