Featured Enamel Painted Ivory Filagree Pin - Clean it or Not?

    Beautiful brooch, Kiko. Very Chinese, and I have only ever seen these in bone, not ivory, so you're in the clear.:)
    The carving was probably done in the Canton (Guangdong) region.
    That font is typical for Chinese Export Jewellery ca 1910-1940. With that clasp and the general style I would say 1920s, maybe early 30s.
    Chinese Export Jewellery is collectible.

    You already got perfect advice from the others regarding cleaning.:)

    Good deal - bone. I appreciate you taking the time to consider it history and place. It helps me appreciate it more since it is older than I thought. They also allow me to do some research into the art of its origin. I'm glad you agree to a little cleaning. I want to wear it in the way it was supposed to be seen, not dark and grimy looking.
