I'm part way through a few books and thought I'd show a few photos.

First of all, the only mark I can sort of see is the crown and shield with HT or HI on it though it's a bit blurry. I did not find it in the "Pewter Marks of the World" Stara book or the "Poincons d'Etain" Tardy book. I haven't been through the Cotterell marks book though I believe they are primarily British and yours doesn't strike me as British. Those are the best books of marks I have and will continue to look when I have a bit of time.

I thought I'd let you see some of the photos from "Zinn" by von Frieder Aichele. I don't speak the language but you can make out the years (jahr=year or jahrhunderts=century or datiert=dated). I usually google-translate if I'm wanting something specific. Your second item seems to be missing the ring on the top.

Also there is an illustration of what a 1700 date is like though I don't know what type of item it was on.

Aichele is first of all an art dealer. he issues ( most probably issued...) nice and colorful - but alas imprecise - booklets and books with infos from the GERMAN art market. they are good eenuff as an induction but don't come up to academic level. the prices given - Once Upon A Time in Germany...
example: "sechsseitig" is always a prism in everyday language. :)
Bruckmann's Zinn-Lexikon is better, also for the differing forms of containers.

for the marks there was "Markenzeichen auf Zinn" by Dagmar Stara.
this had the immense advantage that it was originally issued in Czechoslovakia and then translated in the GDR; somewhere on the way the copyrights got lost.... which came in handy when I copied the marks for Pat's Pewter site . it had the immense advantage that it included all the former German town marks of Prussia, Silesia etc. that were a bit lost in the west.

I do have a Stara book, the title in English is Pewter Marks of the World which I did check for the mark. I wonder if that's the book you're talking about.
