OMG how beautiful!! Is this Jade?

his is another one of the may pieces from my mother in law's jewelry box. It was so dirty when I got it. I just finished cleaning it to the best of my ability OMG it I so pretty!

Says Sorrento Sterling but is gold in color is it gold plate like the Uncas cross pendant? @evelyb30

Is it jade? I found another piece by the same maker on Ruby Lane says jade but..

I think the design is from the 1960-70 time period. I remember seeing it in gift stores.

Under Sorrento says see Uncas and most of their jewelry is sterling or gold plated? I see vermeil in some listings. I looked it up and it says it means gold plated silver, from what I understand?

Is it safe to assume that if a piece says sterling and is goldish in color that it is gold plate or vermeil. Sorry for all of my questions, still learning.

Where I see the goldish color is inside where it was difficult to polish. I'm going with tarnish.
Vermeil is gold plated over silver. So the gold color would be prominent, not the silver color. It would look like a gold ring, unless there was a lot of wear, then you might see the silver peeking through in areas of contact.

 

Yup; looks most probably like vermeil. Does the stone warm right away when touched to the lips? Or does the cold linger. If it lingers, most likely stone. Hard to say it's jade w/o a MOHS test?
