This is probably my 3rd or 4th painting I've seen like this - in fact I think I posted one here before asking for help with the artist's name but can't find it.
Is it the angle - or is meant to look .. wavy? It looks like the artist ate the wrong type of mushrooms with his meal before he started painting this!

    Can anyone recognize the name?
Is this a watercolor? Or a print?
It is behind glass which usually means it's not a painting.

    Thank you for any info!

PS - I know the glass is dirty; I took pics for here as soon as I got home!

"Behind glass" usually means it's not an oil painting. But lots of other types of original paintings get put behind glass.

The name "faiquest" returns some results that are done by the same person, but I'm not seeing info (or value).

I think "faiquest" is an erroneous transcription of the signature.

The distortion reminds me of the result of using a fisheye lens in a camera.

They are also unsure of the artist name. I don’t know if yours is a print or not. Please try to remember, to always show a photo of the back. :)

They seems like amateurish riffs on the style of Bernard Buffet seen through coke-bottle glasses

I cannot construct a viable surname with the provided letters. :p

Plus... I'm not convinced the same hand wrote all three of the available signatures.

    Looks like Jacquest to me.

one of the paintings in the link includes "Galerie" on the building scene, that's French, shocker I know, so given the pattern of alley street scenes, I'd guess it's a street artist in town on coast of France?

That is a viable surname, I just don't see a viable "c"... :joyful:

To be honest, I'm not sure it matters. I suspect these fall into the "when you paint a [insert subject] in the [insert style], sign [insert name]" category of factory art.

Ok, well then. I did not spot that. So either a terrible translator, or, dumb native? Probably not French then ---

Busch Gardens? honest to god, the first thought I had was "this came from a theme park artist" - somebody took it home because they had to remember their first beer at the "restaurante" in the French Quarter. Sounds cruel now, but, you know what they say about first impressions...

I think the Q looks like a G in op, so who knows what goes on. ;)

... which also explains my confusion when I saw an English bobby on the corner of one of the scenes with all the Mansard rooflines... he wandered over from England, passed the Loch Ness roller coaster, and ended up in France, a five minute walk.

That comment can only be understood by somebody that understands the tacky theme park that Busch Gardens is.

OK, this just reminds me of Whoville. Read a lot of Dr Seuss to my kids.
