Featured Green Pottery Low Bulb Bowl Planter - Who made me??

Hi All,

Does anyone know the maker of this green pottery low bulb bowl planter. Measures 11-3/4" long by about 6-3/4" wide. About 2-1/2 " tall. Not sure of the shape - have been searching "Cornucopia" with no luck so maybe I am not on the right track.

Any help is much appreciated.

Hi All,
Just found this white low planter that looks similar to mine, but the size is a little bigger. Seller says it is California Pottery. His is marked with incised/impressed number 266. I thought it might be shaped like a cornucopia but did think of snail shell. Do you have any idea if his id is correct? Would love to hear what you think. Thanks

Looks like you did most of the searching on this. Great persistence on your part!

I like the shape, and like the color of yours best of the ones that were found. I do wonder why some were marked and some not.

 

The book, Sebring, Ohio, has a picture of the aftermath of the fire in 1960. The caption says Stanford Art Pottery was sent to other companies to be decorated, and a lot was sold to discount stores. Maybe they didn't always want their name on it?

 

Oh, that's a possibility.
