This pin is big at 3 1/2 inches. The auction details are probably wrong (amethyst, citrine and marcasite details) and it is modern I think, but I liked its fluidity and thought it would show nicely on a black sweater of which I have many. I am leading, but my max bid is now $25. I know it is a matter of what I am willing to pay, but I don't want to overbid. Any thoughts?

Well, $25 is certainly not too much, unless it breaks your personal bank. Maybe better is to tell us the max. you have in mind & ask if we think it's worth that. :)

Well that was my max $25. I can up it no problem to $100 or more. I just wasn’t sure. What do you think.

Thanks. The search I did used the wrong terms. This link was very helpful.

I personally would not go beyond $50 for the pin on its own merits, without considering any added value of how much it calls to you or fills a niche in your jewellery wardrobe. I will, ahem, shell out silly money for a cameo if it falls into a particular collecting interest.

It is a very nice brooch, love the amethysts and citrines. I am pretty sure that's exactly what they are, with marcasites for sparkle. I'm with Bronwen, don't go over $50, that'll be fine.
    I had no idea.:angelic:
