IMG_1132.JPG IMG_1134.JPG IMG_1137.JPG We found this in a house we bought in San Jose, CA in 1992. Is it an antiquity or an antique novelty?

Vaguely reminiscent of some cartoon character that won't come to mind right now - I don't think an antiquity - but definitely a curiosity!

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I would say the latter, although maybe not antique. Are those ears, or flower barrettes?

I'm with alex, of all cultures it reminds me most of a Mexican Nayarit Chinesca head. Although the clay reminds me more of Ecuadorian Tolita ceramics, which are much more realistic.
Can we see the base, the back and a side view please? And dimensions, it looks enormous now.

Love the earrings, whatever it is.:)
