Help ID this little Brass Scoop?

    We picked this up yesterday at a yard sale. It seems to be cast Brass, with silver/nickel plating. (could be wrong....) It's small, and measures 6 in tall and the scoop part is about 3/4 in across. The top has a pointy end, which I'm assuming was used for something? We could not find any markings on it anywhere.
