Found this for $1.99 and tests at 10k. No markings on the inside. Worn pretty thoroughly as someone wore it quite a bit. One of the opals has gone missing over time and I am searching for a new one for it. Nice little piece from what I think is the Victorian era.

For two bucks ... bingo. Opals were bad luck, at least for the store!

    It is a sweetie.
I think so too. The opals look Australian, so after 1880. My guess is 1890-1900.
Make sure you don't buy an Ethiopian Welo opal. They are everywhere now, and pretty though they are, they are not like Aussie opals.

I like welo opals, Mexican fire opals, Peruvian pink opals .... I wouldn't put one of them in the ring, but would cheerfully hoard any of the above if they dropped in my lap!

I like them too, but they shouldn't be in a Victorian ring date-wise, and not mixed with Aussie opals opal-wise.;)

Mexican fire opals are absolutely gorgeous.
