any ideas on age of this bed?

    Any ideas on the age of this four poster bed. Looks to be made of maple. Thanks :)

    2 things may help determine age on this bed - the material of which the caster wheels are made and how the crosspieces that support the mattress are installed.

    WHAT the heck is holding those slats in place.....I can't see......are they just nailed/screwed through the side rails/boards??? My rough guess on age might be 1950's to 60's.......give or take....looks fairly decent.....maybe from the inside of that visible side rail/board that's been replaced? Two of the others look OK. But if you're buying it, IMHO those bed slats as is would be another accident waiting to happen!!!!
    Personally, I've never been fond of casters...

    I think there are blocks attached to the side rail under the slats, supporting them.

    Really not enough to go on from this photo. Would need to see the attachment hardware of the rails to the head and footboard. A better shot of the head and foot would be nice as well. Also, as said above, a look at the casters. Size of mattress it takes is important.
