This sucker is just about the size of a standard brick - just over 8" wide - 3" high and about 4" deep. Solid as a rock (teehee) - weighs about 8.5 pounds.

3 layers - bottom is perhaps some type of granite, middle looks like marble, and top is alabaster perhaps? Top layer has beveled edges. Paperweight? (seems a bit extreme for that) - Part of an architectural flair? It's been kicked around a bit and has seen better days - not sure how old. Anyone seen anything like this? Petrified ice cream sandwich? Thanks for playing along :)

It's okay... it may very well be a doorstop, but we know that it was harvested from the Petrified ice cream deposits in the Hills above Massa Carrara Italy.

Makes me think of a Nanaimo Bar, graham cracker base, vanilla custard, icing sugar and butter filling topped with chocolate ganache.

Quick and easy, no baking required. It's been a standby in my household since the 1950's. Keeps for a few days in the fridge, but they never last that long as my waistline can attest. Pretty sure you could Google the recipe, Bon Apetit!
