Info needed for boxes

Hi

I am seeking info on the following 2 boxes as I know nothing about them. Any help appreciated

 

Dimensions would no doubt be helpful.

Where did you get them?
How long ago?

 

If course! My bad!! I acquired them some time ago and have had them in storage for a while, which I am busy trying to get into some kind of order. I know that the 2nd, smaller box is definitely quite ‘old’ but have no idea just how old. I know that it was either used as a needlework box or jewellery box. It’s a very nice quality wood and finish in excellent condition. The first box I know nothing about but remember wondering whether it’s vintage or a modern day reproduction. Either way it’s quite a nice piece, I’ve not seen one before which is what attracted me to it. Having said that it may well have some age and history behind it, I really don’t know....dimensions to follow in just. A few moments

 

1st box:28x23x24cm
2nd box: 24x12x7cm

 

The first looks like a store display box and may have had 2 more shorter shelves on the inside. The bottom drawer stored the items for sale that were displayed above.

Any idea of the age please?

 

They look rather recent to me, meaning anywhere from yesterday to mid-20th century, especially the first one. But I'm no expert, wait for more decisive/knowledgeable opinions.

 

i don't see any of them being older than the 80's..

 

The first one screams late 1970s to me, but I also thought the second one was older.

 

Second one looks like a nice silk lined 1920s ish mahogany jewellery box.

 

This definitely has age to it. The first I agree is more likely modern
