What's interesting is that Grosse sold theirs both under their own name and Dior. Mine are NOS, bought from the same person who sold me a rather nice Florentine leather box. They used to be Selfridge's suppliers.

The clasp on mine, just says Dior not the other name. Does that make a difference? What does NOS mean?

I have two necklaces: one only says Ch Dior the other only says Grosse, but they're both made by Grosse. NOS is new old stock: an ex shop item, never sold, so in as new condition.

New Old Stock. Something that is not new but was never sold retail; stayed in inventory somewhere.

Unless you're doing medical coding, in which case Not Otherwise Specified. :)

I'd be more inclined to keep the Kitty Committee!

Grosse is a good brand, they manufacture quality costume jewellery. It is collectible here in Europe.

    Yup, and it's not cheap.

That's good to know. It was that piece that stimulated my interest in retaining some pieces from my purchase of the jewelry for the trip rather than donating them all back. It's already stashed away. Thank you.

Well I bought it cheap here. Apparently, they didn't know. Your pieces are beautiful, so I can see why you love them. I thank you for sharing your insights. I had no clue.

Total coincidence after reading this thread I picked up this necklace today. It’s signed Grosse C and 1958.
Presumably Grosse designed jewellery for more than just Dior but does the 1958 tell me anything please?
    Thanks :)

It is signed more than that.;) The crown helps date it as well. The crown over the Gothic-like G means 1955-1979.
